We design a program fit for
each client's particular needs. Various techniques
are incorporated into the treatment that use different
strokes and pressure points to relieve ailments and
stress. We try to make each visit as enjoyable as
possible - no blaring music and no bright lights.
The therapist may also use hot and cold packs, oils,
non-staining lotions or soothing eye patches to
compliment the massage.
There are more than 150
variations of massage, bodywork and somatic therapy
techniques. Many practitioners utilize an
integration of techniques.
- Some of the services we
offer are:
-
- Couples Massage
- Our facility can
accommodate couples in the same room for the
ultimate "special occasion" or just a relaxing
"treat for two".
- Sports Massage
- A focus on protocols
designed specifically for individual sports.
Techniques provide warm-up and cool-down for pre and
post event, and can reduce injuries, alleviate
inflammation and decrease recovery time for amateur
and professional athletes.
- Swedish Massage
- is the most common massage that relaxes
the muscles
and eases aches and pains.
- Hot Stone Massage
- This massage is enhanced
by the use of heated smooth basalt stones that
release warmth deep into the body's tissues relaxing
muscle fibers and relieving tension and stress.
Heated stones are placed along the spine and on the
abdomen while the therapist uses palm size stones
and oil to massage the body.
-
- Seated Massage (chair
massage)
- Seated massage is
performed in the workplace. Your employees
will be seated upright on a special massage chair
and will remain fully clothed. No oils are
used, so there is no need for them to be concerned
about stains on clothing. The session
generally lasts from 10-20 minutes. The chair
is lightweight and portable, enabling it to be set
up in virtually any office or break room.
Seated massage utilizes acupressure and Swedish
massage to relieve tension.
- Maternity Massage
- Massage during pregnancy
not only makes a woman feel pampered, but offers
undeniable physical benefits as well. Massage
can relieve fatigue, enhance sleep and calm an
active baby.
- Foot Reflexology
- Reflexology is an ancient
therapy based on the relationship of specific points
and zones of your feet with areas of your body.
A light foot powder is used to allow the
therapist to massage the foot without slipping.
Each zone of the foot is gently rubbed, kneaded and
rolled to increase circulation. Deep thumb
pressure is used on specific areas to release energy
blockages.
- Ear Coning
- A therapy used by Native
Americans to clean the ear canal and aide in
hearing. Cones made from muslin and soaked
in herbs and bees wax are burned to create a gentle
smoke which travels down the cone into the ear
canal. It is believed that the smoke
penetrates the fine membrane of the ear removing
unwanted impurities and wax buildup. Treatment
includes one set of cones.
- Craniosacral Therapy (CST)
- CST was developed by Dr.
John Upledger. The body's craniosacral system
includes the cerebral spinal fluid and membranes
which surround the brain and spinal cord.
Light pressure, no greater than the weight of a
nickel, is used to help the body release
restrictions in the craniosacral system. This
can aid the functioning of the Central Nervous
System. This therapy is done fully clothed.
CST is used to treat a wide variety of conditions,
and is a specialized treatment which is performed by
our trained therapist.
- Paraffin Dip for both
hands and feet
- This treatment is
wonderful for people with arthritis. We wrap
their hands and while they are getting a massage,
they're hands and/or feet are also receiving
treatment.
